This weekend, we finished decorating for Christmas. I love my house decorated for Christmas. Putting up the tree and remembering sweet memories behind each ornament is my favorite part!
My Mom is to blame for the ornament thing! Her tree holds a ton of memories as well. She got my brother and I an ornament each year as far back as I can remember. They were ornaments that belong to a Hallmark series. I am doing the same thing for my children; however, haven't quite stuck with a series. Just can't find one I like. When I got married, my Mom gave me ALL of my ornaments as a gift. I was so excited.
I decided to take just a few of my favorite ones that I hold close to my heart. When I say just a few...this is nothing! I could really make this quite lengthy.
These first two probably don't need much of an explanation. I can only imagine how I will feel years from now when I hang these!
This one is so sweet. This was Maddie when I first met her!
You gotta love handmade ornaments.
We don't have very many so we typically hang this one front and center.
I'm not a collector of things. It's too much pressure. However, I have a few collections of ornaments.
I can't tell you how much I love my Boyd's ornaments. These are very near and dear to my heart because they represent the time that I spent with Ryan and his family. They started this collection for me.
These are two of the six sport Boyds that I have. I LOVE them! Cooper loves them too!
I bought this one on my first out of town trip with Todd to Breckenridge, CO.
It reminded me of him! hehe
I have several of these Angel Boyds.
I also have quite a few Precious Moments ornaments that the Domecs,
Mom, and my friend Missy got me.
Yes, this one is dated 1976! It was one of the ornaments that Mom bought me.
This ornament wasn't really bought for me but Mom gave it to me with the others. I think she gave it to me because she knew that I always loved it. I would always hang it towards the top of the tree. I'm not sure why I love this ornament so much. It's so simple. I don't know, it just makes my heart happy.
This series actually came after the thimble series. The pictures are flipped and it's past my bedtime to re-arrange. This is the Mary's Angels series from Hallmark. I probably have close to 20 of these ornaments. The series is still going and Mom is still buying them for me. Aren't they sweet?
This was the first series she bought me and I have around 15 of them. They go towards the top of the tree because they are smaller ornaments. You can't really see the thimble in the pictures. They are so cute and I absolutely cherish them. I looked up the value of them one time, they are actually worth quite a bit!
Another Boyd's...
So, I danced my whole life. Have a ton of ballet dancer ornaments that I didn't
include but have had to represent Maddie's love...VOLLEYBALL!
Todd bought this for me for our first Christmas.
He used a picture we took at Breckenridge.
I bought this on my trip to Carmel. One of my favorite places!
And...this just reminds me of some country dancing fun!
Good times!
The finished tree!
These are kind of random...they don't go with the rest of the post.
Chloe's hair is starting to part naturally and style more.
Doesn't she look five here?
The only sure thing meal that they will eat!
SPAGHETTI!
They asked for "mo noodles" three times!
Shirts are not allowed when eating spaghetti!
