Fun Day

Look who's doing it now!? This morning Little Miss woke from her nap and was standing in her crib. I'm very proud of my sweet little girl but I surely don't want her to start having trouble sleeping because she is moving around so much now. Yep, that's what her brother does. This was the beginning of a very fun and special day. We celebrated my Grandmother's 75th birthday today. We all dressed up from the 50's and surprised her. It was so fun! I decided to put brother in the bed too while I cleaned up their room.

Now we are at Aunt Donna's. Chloe and Bella played very well together. Bella is 4 months old. I'm sure they will have so much fun together in the years ahead.
Snuggling on the couch!

Aunt Vicki brought all kinds of props and costumes for the occasion today.
We all had fun glasses to wear! Even the little ones!
What a hunk of burnin love!? (Yep, those are hairy thick side burns!)
Elvis has been spotted!
No wait! There's Elvis!
Too cute for words!

Yep, that's the largest beehive I've every seen!

Pink Ladies!
Oh no, another Elvis has my hunk of burnin love!
Am I really related to these folks?
Little Pink Ladies!

Aunt Vicki is resonsible!

Aunt Donna's hunk of burnin love!

Sassy pink ladies ready to start school tomorrow! Maddie is heading to the Jr. High and Kenz is heading to 5th grade!

There is another Elvis!
Happy Birthday Rennie!

Feeling much better...

Both Cooper and Chloe are feeling much better and I cannot tell you how much appreciate all the prayers. It was a rough patch for sure. Monday, we took them both in for a follow up exam and they each got a steroid shot. Evidently, the ER should have given Cooper one. About a day later Cooper was back to his normal self (ultimate ham) and Chloe has been about a day or two behind him. She is feeling much better and no longer coughing but hadn't eaten much until today. Hopefully, we'll see more of her smiles soon now that she's eating better.

Cooper turns it on for the camera. Like I said above...ULTIMATE HAM!

Little Miss...

Chloe loves this basket of toys. She will play with the toys and the basket itself for quite awhile.

While I was trying to take a picture of Chloe smiling, they both began to climb all over me. This is what happens at our house. You become a human jungle gym.

As you can see, all is well again!

:(

After surviving the flu, last Thursday Cooper was running fever and throwing up. He had an ear infection and was put on antibiotics. Friday, Chloe woke from a nap with fever and Todd headed back up to the doctor's office. They said hers was possibly from the teething or something viral, no sign of infection. Yesterday, Cooper's cough began to sound like a seal and he was wheezing pretty badly. He was really having a hard time breathing especially during the coughing attacks. We were advised by our pediatrician to take him to the ER. At this point, Chloe was back to her normal self. Turns out Cooper has the croup, which is viral and the only thing we can do for him is give him breathing treatments every 4 hours, let him sit in the bathroom with the hot steamy shower running, use a humidifier, etc. They did x-ray his lungs and there were markings on them (whatever that means) but no sign of infection yet. The doctor said to to come back in if it gets worse because it could possibly lead to pneumonia. We definitely had to get up every 4 hours or so with him to give him treatments. His is still struggling a bit to breath and what worries me is that it's more consistent than yesterday and not just during his coughing attacks. But, right now he's breathing hard while smiling and playing with toys in the floor. So, he's not as fussy as I would expect him to be. Now Chloe, she woke up in the middle of the night with the same seal like cough. She is definitely getting it and has the beginning stages. She is having the coughing attacks which upsets her greatly. She isn't doing the heavy breathing in between attacks yet. The doctor did say that it was very possible that she would get it too. All of this is definitely reminding Todd of their days when they had to take Maddie to the hospital. He knew before the pediatrician told me that we would be spending the day in the ER. He knew the right questions to ask for sure. Oh, in the midst of all this...Cooper has one top tooth and one bottom tooth that has cut through! Chloe also has one on the bottom and her top gums are really white and puffy. It's funny how they both have stayed on the same time frame with almost everything. And, one more incredible story...while in the front waiting room at the E.R. yesterday we witnessed a woman have her baby in her car! Her husband made it to the front drive, ran into the building and yelled, "My wife is in labor!" and everyone went running. We heard the very-soon-to-be-mommy cry out a bit and then minutes later a baby was being brought out from the car! We watched the mom and baby be wheeled through the waiting room. Incredible! It seems that everyone was fine and all the nurses involved were smiling. Prayers for healing the Cummings family are greatly appreciated. Todd also has been sick but unfortunately he is pushing through it to take care of the babies. We think his is sinus related. He hasn't had a voice for a few days now. So far so good with me. One thing to celebrate though...I almost forgot...both babies are crawling all over the place! We had to move our coffee table out of the living room b/c Cooper was trying to climb on it. Now, the room has been cleared and the babies have taken over.

8 Months Old

Cooper and Chloe turned 8 months old yesterday!

My rough and tough boy!
He is smiling at Maddie. For some reason, if Maddie chants "Cooper Jason" he cracks up! We need to get it on video. It would definitely bring you a few chuckles!

My cutie pie!
Playing with big sis while waiting for Mom and Dad to get ready for church! Cooper is wanting to climb up on anything these days. Up, down, up, down...all day long!

Again, cutie pie!
Notice the tear in Cooper's eye, this morning they both wanted to be fed at the same time. Cooper isn't the most patient boy. I wonder where he gets that from!? And then look what Little Miss did! She took the bottle from me and held it herself! She hasn't done it again. Stinker!

Cooper has one little tooth coming through the gums. This is his first time trying the biscuit that makes a lovely mess! I wonder if he'll like it...
I think he likes it! Then, after the ever so messy biscuit one would need a drink of water! This is us trying again with a sippy cup...still doesn't have it down but likes the water.
Okay folks, I am NOT exaggerating when I say that Cooper beats you up when it's time for him to go to sleep. He burrows, thrashes around, pinches you, pushes on you, throws his body ever which way...all of this with his eyes closed and head bobbing...and then finally he falls asleep. This ordeal takes at least 30 minutes! I know you are saying to me, "Go just put him in his bed and let him cry it out!" Come and try it, let me know how it goes for you! :) By the way, Little Miss is sleeping peacefully by this point in her bed. At least I have one that's easy. Sweet Cooper, when you are reading this years from now this might hurt your feelings. But just know, I love you so very much and it's okay that you need some extra time in Mommy and Daddy's arms!
When Cooper goes to bed, we all go to bed! Goodnight!

Going Places!

Cooper and Chloe are coming back around from the nasty flu! Their appetites are slowly returning, sleep schedule getting slightly back on track and they are ready to take off crawling. They both go forward a couple of steps and then plop down. I am predicting that Mr. Coop might pass the full fledge crawl and go straight to walking. He is wanting to climb on things and propped himself up using his hands on his feet this morning. Chloe is doing a great job at getting where she wants to be! She might roll to get there but mostly she will crawl a few steps, rest, and then do it again. Dad is out of town this week so we know he will enjoy seeing these photos that were taken this afternoon after their baths. It will show him that they are feeling much better. He didn't like leaving knowing they were still not feeling well. He'll be back late Friday evening. He's in Colorado...I know...poor thing, right!?

Cute booties!

This is how Cooper sits up from the crawl position.
He puts the one leg in front of him and pushes up on it!

Taking a rest from all the crawling about!

Ready to go again!

Can you see this picture 5 or 10 years from now?

I believe Reba is their motivation to crawl! Look out Reba, here they come!
Going for the toy basket!

I bought the bloomers and boxers before they were born. Cooper's are just about too small but Chloe's still fit her pretty well. Below is a link to the slideshow from the newborn pictures. (www.tynanphotography.com) There is a picture where the babies are wearing the boxers and bloomers for the first time.

We miss you already Dad! Bring us home a good sussie!!! :)
