Little Readers and a Beautiful Day!

Today we met our friends Jason and Meredith and their little 5 month old son, Ethan, at IHOP for breakfast. We haven't seen each other in what feels like ages and it was so good to see them. The day was gorgeous so we decided to head over to Bear Creek Park and enjoy the little zoo. Nana joined us too since we were on her side of town. The babies enjoyed being outside for sure and loved the animals. Ethan enjoyed the walk by sleeping! The picture isn't showing off Ethan's shades but they were adorable on him, and I was way impressed he kept them on. Todd and Jason are at the movies right now seeing Advatar in IMAX. I have to say I'm happy Todd is finally getting to see that movie. I just wasn't interested. Speaking of...Todd is calling me now! Okay, I'm back, he said it was the most phenonimal movie he's ever seen! Now, back to blogging...

  • Cooper and Chloe loved these little guys! They kept making their "ruf ruf" sound at them.
Are you hearing the Rockie theme song when you look at this picture?

Aren't you impressed with my photography skills?
Doesn't this picture show off how beautiful the day was!
It was such a blessing to get outside and enjoy the day!

Here are my little readers! From the time their little eyes could focus on a picture they have loved books. We've gone through several favorites, Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What Do You Hear?, Foot Book by Dr. Suess, and Duck and Goose Books to name a few. We never get away without reading what feels like 10 different books each 10 times every evening. Now, they are also wanting to read on their own. For some odd reason, they gather up their books and sit in these tubs. They do their baby talk reading. It's hilarious!
Here they are tonight reading again!
    And, after dinner before bedtime...
Do most almost 15 month old babies love books like this?
Here are a couple of random pictures of Chloe, my little stinker! As you can see from the above pictures, she's got some wild hair these days. She won't keep her bow or rubber band in her hair but I'm determined to grow her bangs out while the rest of her hair is growing. If it's already in an odd phase, why not just stick it out so we don't go through another odd phase later when growing her bangs out!? Todd can't stand it, he desperately wants her hair out of her cute little face. We'll see how it goes. For now, wild hair it is!

    Happy Valentine's Day

    Happy Valentine's Everyone!

Well, I went on my very first out of town work conference from Wednesday - Friday in Austin. That just doesn't happen often in the teaching world. It was also my very first time to spend an evening away from the babies. I thought that I would get this ultimate night's sleep...nope...didn't happen. I was up both nights off and on and then woke up very early both mornings. I missed them but they seemed to do okay without me. Humbling, isn't it? I called each night to check on them and Todd would tell me how the night was easy and they were both already asleep. Of course! They went to bed both nights by 7:00 PM and slept through the night. Dad did great in the mornings too. Shelley says he earned a C+ for Chloe's hair! :) Friday morning, Maddie was here and fixed Chloe's hair. I had asked Todd to dress them in their Valentine's outfits and take pictures to send to me while I was away. Here are his pictures and notice Chloe's hair that was done by big sis! (hehe)

    Mom's back home!
Look at this Sweet Girl! Always smiling!
    Don't touch my snack cup!
    What did I tell you?
Today, Cooper had his first haircut. He kind of had a mullet thing going on and I finally gave in to getting it cut. He cried the whole time and Dad had to hold him still. The fire truck he was sitting in didn't do the trick nor did the Elmo video they were playing for him. But, it was quick and he recovered rather quickly once it was over.
He doesn't have a whole lot of hair but he had this hair that hung below his collar. She also trimmed the top to make it even. You can see in the picture below how long it was.
Look at that handsome Bubs! He knows he's looking cute.
Back at home and giving Mom some smiles!
    What a stud muffin!
They both love their snack cups, as you can see. And, they love this radio toy that is magnetic so that it will stick on the fridge. However, they won't leave it there.
She's batting her eyes at him!
Ahhh...and yes...a mouth full of goldfish.
    Yep, that's my pretty girl!
She won't be getting a haircut anytime soon.
When Maddie started getting more involved in sports, we bought a camera specifically to take action shots. Todd finally figured out how to do it and he got some really good shots from her last tournament. They did really well at this tournament. Unfortunately, the babies and I missed it because it was my turn to work in the toddler room at church. Two adults, 8 two year olds. Fun times!

Tomorrow, Todd and I are going to dinner and a movie while Nana watches the babies. I am so so happy that we have a three day weekend!

    My Sweet Boy!

Y'all, my boy is being so very sweet towards his sister and it makes my heart happy. Ms. Shelley also shared this morning all the sweet things he is doing with his friends at her house. Here are the things he has started doing:
    • When Chloe cries, he searches the house for a pacifier and brings it to her.
    • When Chloe wants his lovey, he searches the house for hers and brings it to her.
    • He tried covering her with a blanket last night when she was laying down on her little sofa bed.
    • This morning, he found one of her hair rubber bands on the floor, brought it over to her and tried putting it in her hair.
    • He is sharing his food with all of us.
    • HE KISSED ME FOR THE FIRST TIME LAST NIGHT! FOUR TIMES!!! This made my day! Work was especially crazy yesterday and honestly, I was ready to have a glass of wine! After that, my crazy day was forgotten.
    • When one of his friends is upset at Ms. Shelley's, he'll bring them some food or a toy.
After he does each of these things, he looks at us for some recognition and gives us this big goofy new grin. Can't wait to get this new smile of his on camera. I would also love to get a picture of brother and sister hugging. Everytime I bring the camera out, the show is over! Chloe might be in trouble when she is older. I believe we have an over protective brother in the making. YES! :)
