We have a new church home!

This last weekend we did our final step to joining Kingsland Baptist Church. We walked forward during the alter call to be presented to the congregation. Which is so out of our comfort zone! A few weeks ago we attended the "Next Step" class that they request those that are interested in becoming a member take. The final step was to be presented to the church as a family. We had decided last summer that we wanted to visit other churches in Katy. It was a good time for Madison because the JUMP class at Second was ending for her because of her age. We had a few on our list to visit and Kingsland Baptist was first on our list. We definitely liked it and knew that we wanted to visit a few more times but we also wanted Madison to be apart of our decision. She instantly loved her class. She told us that she wanted to continue going as well. We visited quite a bit but then my pregnancy started getting in the way. The last time we had visited before having the babies I had numerous contractions walking to the sanctuary. I believe I went on bedrest that next week! After the babies were born it was Madison who was ready to return. I had been talking about visiting again and one Sunday (when I was actually making excuses to myself as to why it would be okay if we didn't go...I had infant twins...good excuse, right?) Madison came into the room and said, "I thought we were going to church today?" Can you say, "Conviction!" Needless to say, I walked quietly into the room where my husband was and said..."Go get ready, we are going to church!" Go Madison! Not that it's YOUR job to get us to church but God was using you sweetie to get us up and going. The babies did fabulous in the nursery and I did okay too leaving them. They give us a pager just in case we are needed so that is so helpful.

That Madison...you gotta love her. I remember the first time I saw her. She was sitting next to her Dad during our adult bible study for Singles at Second Baptist. She sat so quietly and just listened to the teacher. Back then, she had her days where she didn't want to be left alone in her Sunday school class so she would look at her Dad with those big sad brown eyes and he would cave. But, she was so good in our class. Eventually, she grew more independent and now she is telling us we don't need to walk her to her class anymore! She tells US where SHE will meet us afterwards! She is going to be such a good role model for her little brothers and sister.

This picture will be the photo that our church will share with the congregation as Chloe and Cooper are being dedicated. Their dedication is on Mother's Day! Last weekend we also took the preparation class for this. Kingsland has several "Milestone" seminars parents can take along the way of raising their children. We took the first one and thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm thankful that our new church has such a great support system for parents. I'll post pics of the dedication for sure.

Today, the Katy area was hit pretty hard with heavy rain and school was canceled. This was such an unexpected gift for me. Sorry to those that it wasn't. I was having an emotional night last night and sharing with Todd the many things weighing on my mind. One being that I felt like the babies were growing up so fast and how scared I was to miss this time with them while being a working Mom. I was so thankful to have this extra day with them.

Cooper is starting to show his personality and talking much more these days! They are both teething so they are chewing on their hands which you will see on the last video of Chloe! Here are a few clips from today....

Sorry this is so dark...and then the next one might bother those who get motion sickness easily...

This is what Chloe has to say about teething...

Who's been sleeping in Big Sis's bed?

Here is Chloe laying in Madison's bed while her Mommy blogs on Madison's computer!

Here's Chloe asleep on Big Sis's bed because this blog post took so long!

I will leave you with two scriptures that have been precious to me this week after attending the "First Milestone" seminar....

"Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22.6

"Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from Him." Psalm 127:3

Go Astros!

Hi All! We survived our first week without Dad. He arrived back home today from his work trip in San Jose. Nana stayed with us all week and was a HUGE help. Everything went pretty well besides them getting up EVERY morning at 4:00 AM. Each morning I would wake up to Chloe just a cooing in her crib. Then, shortly after Cooper joined her. We are so glad Dad is home now so he can enjoy this experience! HA!
Thanks to Uncle Chad, we are ready for baseball season!
Go Astros!
Chloe wasn't so excited about her hat! hehe

This picture was taken the other day...isn't it adorable and where did my BABY boy go? He looks like a little man here. I know the picture is kind of blurry but I just love it. He loves to lay on his tummy on the bean bag as you can see from the pictures above.

Easter Festivities!

The Easter Bunny came on Good Friday this year because Maddie was with her Mom on Easter Sunday. It looks like the Easter Bunny knew that the babies loved Ms. Shelley's bean bag so he brought one for them to have at our house!

Good morning sleepy heads!

Chloe loving her bean bag and duck...

So serious but he loves it...

Happy Easter! We spent Easter Sunday at Nana's house.
We went to church in the morning and barely escaped the nasty rain.
Their outfits were adorable on them!
Auntie D is famous for bringing "props" for the kiddos to wear...even if boys shouldn't have flowers on their heads! Obviously, Coop isn't pleased.

More from Auntie D...

Chloe had no problem wearing the shades...

Chloe with cousin Lindsey...
This little red dress was actually my Christmas dress when I was 6 months old. My mom saved the dress to give me for my little girl. I will do the same for Chloe's little girl. We had to get a picture with her wearing it while it fit her. The shoes were also mine.

4 Months Old!

Almost caught both smiling! Dad is singing "Old McDonald had a farm..." and they are smiling at him. They both love the "E-I-O" part! Of course, I should get Dad on camera singing this song. It would make all of us smile!

They are getting so big. As you can see, one bear had to go!

Open Mouth = Better Serves

hehehe...

Taking stats for the coach!

Stuck out in the blue bonnets - Literally!

Go ahead and take a peek at these beautiful pictures before I tell you how this day went! It was definitely the perfect blog material kind of day!

I believe this picture could be put in a magazine!

It is very hard for Madison to hold both babies where they do not all look totally uncomfortable. So, I thought we'd try just having her hold only one at a time. We started with Chloe and after two pictures were taken both babies started crying. It was their feeding time. As you can see Chloe is looking a little grumpy.

So, we rushed back to the car, fixed their bottles, changed their diapers, took out lawn chairs and sat down to feed them. That's when we realized what we had done! And, the panic started (okay maybe I just panicked, Maddie chewed her nails, Todd stayed his usual calm self). WE LOCKED OUR KEYS IN THE CAR...along with the diaper bag that held their pacifiers, more diapers, more food, sun block, etc. You guys...I was in panic mode. For those of you who know about the day these two babies were born and the little panic attack that I had right b/f my surgery...this was very much like that one. Todd called a locksman first...there wasn't one in Chappell Hill where I had to go today to take pictures in the blue bonnets. The nearest one was in another town and it would take over 2 hours to get to us. By this point, my stomach is turning and I'm realizing there is NO bathroom ANYWHERE! We then called my mom. She drove over to our house to get my set of keys (thank the Good Lord that I didn't have my set in my diaper bag) and then brought my keys to us. It took her about an hour and 20 minutes. I REALLY have to use the restroom by this point so I asked this lovely couple if they could drive me to the nearest restroom. They were so nice and took me to one about a mile up the road. Todd, Maddie and the babies stayed behind, the babies couldn't go anywhere without a carseat. About 30 minutes after I return, I am still on edge and my tummy is still hurting. So...I have to ask ANOTHER couple to take me to the restroom. TWO absolutely wonderful couples that were so nice helped us today. The second time Maddie went with me and Todd stayed behind with the babies. This is where the story gets EVEN better.....Todd is sitting in a lawn chair in a field of blue bonnets by himself with both babies that are crying. He's trying to bounce them and calm them down. A man drives up with his family and rolls down his window and says, "I've gotta get a picture of this!" AND TAKES HIS PICTURE!! Hilarious! After Maddie and I return, I'm much calmer at this point and realize my mom is only about 30 minutes away. I decide that it would be a SHAME if I didn't leave with any pictures in the blue bonnets. While we waited for Nana we took more pictures. At this point, Cooper's diaper was about to explode but we got some cute shots anyway. When we were packing up after Nana arrived a woman approached us. She said that she had laid down her purse in the field and it was gone. She didn't have her car keys. She asked if we could give her a ride home. How could we say no when two couples helped us? Todd took her home in the Spring Branch area in my mom's car and we fed the babies again before leaving ourselves. Needless to say, it was an eventful day but I'm glad we now have these beautiful pictures! Happy Spring everyone!!!

Chloe was trying to eat the flowers!

Coop!

Yeah!!! Nana is our hero!!! Mom's going to realize that we didn't ALL get a picture together when she starts uploading these pictures on the blog! OOPS! She had a lot on her mind!

Well, we made it home! This was the end of our crazy day! Here is a little clip of Cooper eating cereal for the first time! Cooper has been eating an INSANE amount of formula this last week and still not satsified. So, we tried cereal for the first time today. Look how cute he is!!!

Yummy to my tummy!

Playtime! These pictures were taken earlier this week! Chloe staring intently on the hanging toys!

They are enjoying their Exersaucer!

I am very grateful for those two wonderful couples who were trusting enough to help someone in need. I did ask two women that were driving in the same car at first and they told me they were not comfortable with driving me somewhere. I totally understood because I would have felt the same way. I am very grateful that we were able to help someone else and that we were trusting enough to do so as well! I am also totally in love with these kiddos and thank God everyday for each one of them!
