So sweet!

I had to share this picture! Chloe is being so sweet today so that I can comfort Cooper who isn't feeling well. I was rocking Cooper and looked over and saw the morning light shining on Chloe's face. I'm not sure if you will be impressed as I am on my photography skills but I think I did a good job capturing the moment. We are officially worn out today! Especially Mom and Dad! I guess Dad came in and took these pictures while we were napping!

Two Month Shots...:(

The dreaded day came! Today we took Cooper and Chloe to their two month doctor visit and they had to get their vaccine shots. They received three shots in the leg and one oral vaccine. The babies handled it much better than I did. I couldn't watch so I busied myself with the other baby while Todd was helping the nurse. They really did pretty well. They cried with the pricks but after Todd picked them up they stopped. After, we bundled them in their carseats and they immediately fell asleep as you can see from the picture. We added a chart under their birthday ticker that shows their growth in weight and height. I'm sure Maddie doesn't mind that we haven't added her weight chart. She might not care about sharing her weight with the world right now but I'm sure the time is coming soon where she would rather not. :) The doctor said that Cooper and Chloe are looking great and told us we can stop giving them the preemie formula and move to the regular kind. Hopefully, soon we'll be blogging that they slept longer than 3 hours before needing to eat again! What a great day that will be!!!

Bonding Time

Todd decided that the babies needed some bonding time so he put them on the same Boppy. After awhile Chloe decided to reach up and grab Cooper's face (see last pic)!

Six Weeks Old!

Cooper and Chloe are six weeks old now and getting too big to both sit in the bouncer! Cooper weighs 9 lbs. and Chloe weighs 8 lbs as of last week's doctor visit. I tried to get a picture taken where both were awake but you can see that didn't happen. As soon as I sat Chloe in the bouncer she closed her eyes. Oh well, it's Cooper's turn to show off his bright eyes! Speaking of eyes, they both still have blue eyes but we know that can still change. Cooper's are a little darker than Chloe's with some gray in them. Chloe's look really blue on some days. Todd has hazel eyes so we'll see! Both babies had to go to the doctor last week due to some minor issues. Cooper was congested and had a clogged tear duct and Chloe has acid reflux. The meds are working for both and they have had a really good week this week. They seem much happier and content.

Prayer Warriors

(Click Pictures to Enlarge)

This weekend my Mom had a "Sip 'N See" to show off her angel grandbabies to her close friends. We are extremely blessed to have these ladies in our lives for many reasons. Other than being great friends to my Mom they have been our prayer warriors. They prayed for Cooper and Chloe before they were even in my tummy. They prayed through our struggles of getting pregnant, through the pregnancy and then after the babies were born and in NICU. I'm sure they are still praying for our family! God is good and prayer definitely works! Cooper and Chloe are proof of that!!

Sleep Over!

Many people thought I was crazy to let Maddie have a sleep over with infant twins who are up most of the night! Believer it or not, Todd and I got more sleep then we have since Cooper and Chloe were born. You can see that the babies were well taken care of by these wonderful girls! I let Todd go to bed at 7:00 PM because I could see that I had many hands to help me. He then got up around midnight and let me go to sleep. He took the 2:00 AM feeding and 5:00 AM feeding w/ sleep in between. I actually slept from midnight to 8:00 AM!!! Oh, and the girls had a great time as well! I'm thinking they can come anytime! :)

You ask, "Is Reba OK?"

Yes, Reba is fine. She is scared to go through her doggie-door now, but she is fine. You ask, "Why would she be scared to go through the doggie-door?"
The foolish husband left his tennis shoes laying on the floor in the front room. My wife, Miranda, with the graceful and always present dexterity of a greek goddess, had gotten up to answer her cell phone while holding Cooper. In route to her cell phone on the kitchen counter, she tripped over the aforementioned oaf of a husband's shoes. This kicked off a domino effect which sent her forward and in the direction of one of the bouncy seats. Hooking her foot on one of the legs of the bouncy seat, Miranda attempted to recover her balance and fell towards the swing. Once falling into the swing, Miranda's "fight or flight reaction" kicked in and she quickly tucked her newborn son under her arm as I could only imagine what looked like the Heisman trophy stance...if he was tripping...
With one arm tucking Cooper and the other arm trying to grab anything it could, Miranda in an instant knew what she must do. She abandoned all hope of landing softly and proceeded to tuck the second arm around Cooper and protect her son, with the strength and agility of a mother cheetah protecting her cub.
A mother's sacrifice...her own well-being not even a factor in her decision, Miranda proceeded to go head first into our back door. This being no flimsy interior door, rather a re-inforced exterior door, the weakest piece of the door is what gave...the doggie-door.

The oaf was at his office desk when he heard a shriek let out...the shriek of his dear wife...the love of his life...the mother of his children...the very reason he was put onto this earth...what was I talking about? Oh yea, she screamed.

The husband is an oaf...no question...but in that instant, with fear and adrenaline being released and coursing through his veins...he vaulted himself towards the kitchen, with the speed of an Olympic sprinter...a likely comparison would be Usain Bolt...
He found his dear wife on the ground with one arm clutching Cooper and the other holding her head. He checked his wife's head for bleeding but when finding none, his attention quickly turned to his only son, the heir to his legacy, who never made a peep, but instead sat silently staring up at his parents.

I am happy to report that mother and son are fine.

The oaf's attempt at humor:
"How 's the weather outside?"
"Go Rams!"
"That will be a 15-yard penalty, leading with the helmet"
"Just glad we didnt get a glass sliding door!"
"Honey, if you want to stay home with the babies, just ask, no need to hurt yourself!"
"Honey, it looks like you have a missed call"

Cute Pics!

I was going through the pictures on my old camera and came across these. This was from a trip to the zoo with cousins Trevor and Brett. I remember it being a beautiful day and having lots of fun. I also remember talking to Todd about how I couldn't wait to bring our future children to the Zoo and other places for their first time! I am so looking forward to all the "firsts" with Cooper and Chloe.

See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil!

I love this picture! She is beautiful!!!

Little Miss

Isn't she precious? She loves her Daddy!

5 Weeks Old!

Go #13!

Chloe and Cooper went to Maddie's volleyball tournament this weekend. They are huge fans of their big sister! Go #13!

Smiling!

Both Cooper and Chloe are starting to smile and be more alert. (Especially at 4:00 AM). I was able to catch Chloe's smile on camera this time!
