Bad week...no pictures...

All three of our babies are sick this week. Maddie went to the doctor Monday with a high temp. of 102.8 and was diagnosed with the flu. They prescribed tamiflu and she was feeling better the next day. Cooper went to the doctor on Wednesday with a temperature (can't remember the exact temp.) and also had the flu. This morning, Chloe woke from her nap with a temperature of 104.4. All three kiddos on tamiflu. The peditrician saw the Cummings family every other day! I thought Chloe had escaped it because both Maddie and Cooper were feeling much better. Now, let's pray Mom and Dad don't get it too! YIKES! Todd leaves for Colorado on Sunday and I have a ton of meetings to attend next week. I also need to make sure Ms. Shelley wants to start watchig the babies on Monday. We'll cross that bridge when we get to it! Prayers for this house to be well again!

Different things...

A few evenings ago I placed Cooper in his bed so that I could change Chloe's diaper on the changing table. After I changed Chloe, I turned around and saw Cooper smiling away at me. He pulled himself up on to his feet. I yelled for Maddie to come quick with the camera! He was posing for her. You can always tell that he knows he's done something big. Such a ham!

As his little (okay maybe chunky) legs were tiring out he started to squat down and look through the rails. So funny!

Daddy and his girls!

Ahhh...back relief. Now that they can sit up on their own I'm giving them baths in the sink! I don't know if there is some book out there that says this is a bad parenting idea but it kills your back to bend over the tub to bathe two babies in a row! The babies love this and I love it!

I thought it would be cute for them to take a bath together. You need extra sets of hands for this though so this was the first and last time we did this.

Updates on the girls:
Madison loved her camp. She was not allowed to bring electronics or a cell phone so we don't have any pictures. She was really tired when she got home and slept from 4:00 PM to 6:30ish the next morning. I woke up around 5:00 AM and realized she hadn't gotten up at all, not even to go to the restroom. She was still dressed in her regular clothes. I had Todd go check to make sure she was breathing! They had an action packed 4 days and she really enjoyed everything. She said the food was good too! Unfortunately, yesterday she began running a temperature which spiked to 102.8 in the evening. Todd took her to the doctor today and she has the flu. We sure hope she feels better soon!
Chloe girl is almost crawling. She puts her weight on her hands and gets up on her toes. She has also actually crawled a few steps on her knees but then she falls on her tummy. Teething is still bothering her quite a bit but NOTHING has come through. She is so precious. She has such a sweet little personality. Cooper takes her toys away from her and she just chooses another one. I wonder how long this will last? He also has climbed on her and toppled her over and she'll just smile and laugh. For about a week, b/c of the MEAN teething, we've had a little rough patch in the evening. She cries pretty hard which isn't like her at all. She barely cries like that. Eventually she falls asleep but it breaks our hearts to hear her so upset. But, she's a good sleeper. Once she's down she stays down until the morning. She's going to bed around 7:00 and waking up between 6:00 and 6:30. I know I've said this before but I HATE TEETHING! My poor babies!

Loving them to pieces!

Maddie left today for church camp. She was very excited. She woke up early when we had talked about her sleeping in so she would be well rested. That's a sure sign when she is excited about something. Then, she got ready really early. She wanted me to take her an hour b/f we had to be there and our church is only 5 min. away! Needless to say, we were 3rd to arrive out of about 200 campers. Gotta love that gal! She'll be home on Saturday! I'll have Maddie create a post about it.
Maddie and I took the babies to the neighborhood park to test out the swings last night. They probably should be a little bigger but they enjoyed it as you can see.
Cooper even did the back and forth motion to swing himself.

Maddie told me that she will be doing this with them in the Fall. She said that will be the best time to go. :)

Well, sadly it's time for me to go back to work. I return tomorrow. I'm not doing so well about it. I have truly loved this time with them. Cooper is on the verge of crawling so it looks like it won't be with me when he finally figures it out (unless it happens over a weekend or in the evening). Things like this are on my mind tonight and I'm on the verge of tears. I am so blessed to have a career where I do have this extended time with them so I'm trying to focus on that instead. Waiting for me is an entire room filled with math materials that I need to organize...YUCK!

Cutie Pies

I did help them get into position for this picture. However, like I said in the prior post...they are sleeping and WAKING up at the same time. Today, I went in there to check on them and they were both awake trying to peak through their cribs at each other. Naturally I knew this would be a cute pic so I ran and got my camera and helped them see each other over the rails. They are sitting on their knees. Today for the first time, Cooper was trying to pull himself up on the crib... ...and he sat up on his own from a crawl like position. I don't know if you can tell but he is so excited about this accomplishment. He's squeeling and smiling over it!
Also, (pictures soon to come) our friend Missy gave us a Johnny Jump Up and both babies LOVE it. Chloe was crying and jumping at the same time on my lap and I truly believe she was wanting to go back in it. When I put her back, she stopped crying and started jumping away. Cooper loves it too but he swings around in it more than jumps. We'll add this station to our rotation! :) Such a teacher like thing to say!!!

You do what you have to do with twins...

Do you really think this will fly with us for long?

I really try to do everything "by the books" when it comes to my babies. However, these days they are doing everything at the same time, down to poopy diapers. They are sleeping at the same time (most days), wanting to eat at the same time (as you can see from the pictures above), etc. So, you do what you have to do! One thing that I am kind of wanting them to learn quickly is to hold their bottles themselves. Oh, that will make things so much easier. I really do wish for time to stand still so that they don't grow up too fast. But, this is the one thing I would like to happen soon. Then again, I will be sad when I don't get that time to hold them close. That time is kind of robbed anyway when you have one crying waiting to be fed. Oh no, there goes the back and forth emotions!

Here is a link to an old post when I was presented with this challenge before. You see...time flies!Look how small they are! http://cummingsfamilyonline.blogspot.com/2009/01/this-is-what-you-do-when-you-have-one.html
Who can resist 20 cute toes!
Sitting pretty in Nana's chair! Had to include this cute picture for sure!
She's already learning to pose for the camera.

7 Months Old Today!

Today, Cooper and Chloe are 7 months old! Of course, this makes me a little sad because the time is flying by! However, it is sooooo fun to see the new things they learn to do. Their little personalities are shining and both of them are total HAMS!
Cooper:
Fighting sleep, especially naps
Eats veggies and fruit with cereal - carrots and bananas are the favorites
Scooting backwards everywhere - very close to crawling
Still no teeth but definitely showing something through the gums
Cries and laughs at the same time - especially when he needs some sleep (HILARIOUS!)
Showing signs of jealousy when Mom is holding Chloe
Wants to be held at all times
Chloe:
Fighting sleep (not nearly as much as Cooper though)
Eats veggies and fruit with cereal -sweet peas and carrots are her favorites
Propping herself up on her hands and knees, ready to crawl
Still no teeth either but definitely hurting
Still smiles at anything and everything
Content for long periods of time playing with her toys or in the jumperoo
It's going to be very hard for me to return to work after being home with them so much. I have loved it despite the rough days of no naps! I return Thursday, July 23rd.

Trip to San Antonio and Happy Fourth!

Happy Fourth of July! This is one of my favorite holidays. This year, we left for San Antonio on July 1st (my b-day) and returned in time for my Aunt Donna's 4th of July party at her new house. The whole week was loads of fun; Madison's birthday, my birthday, San Antonio trip, July 4th party and then church and rest day to end the week! I'm tired, that's for sure!

Of course I got matching outfits for the kiddos for the 4th...

This was taken in Aunt Donna's backyard. They closed on the house on the 1st and had a small gathering on the 4th! Exhausting.

I got my family the red Old Navy shirts and Shay's girl's the white ones...cute...

They even had matching red, white and blue bathing suits but you can't tell b/c Maddie is holding the babies in front of her. I actually forgot Maddie's bathing suit at home so she and Todd had to make a run for a bathing suit when we got to Donna's. She still scored! She came home with a really cute red, white and blue one!

Bella Boo snuggling with Granny Jane...

Nicholas...Donna's oldest son...
Chase (Donna's second) holding Bubs...
Get ready for some ultimate cuteness..
Seriously...

What's up homey?

Like his friend Zach (see the Caraway's blog), Coop has also started doing this thing with his tongue. This is what he looks like most of the day!
This was taken at my favorite Mexican Restaurant in San Antonio. We went there for my birthday.
I was making Maddie be goofy in one of the little shops. It's really not hard to do.
Back at the hotel...I HIGHLY recommend the Wild Oak Ranch Hyatt Resort. It was so nice and truly you never have to leave the place. They have tons of activities planned for the kids, indoor/outdoor pools with waterslides and a lazy river! I was wanting to stay another night but knew that we needed to get back for the party. We will return for sure.

I love this picture!
And this one...

The babies loved the lazy river!

Perhaps we need to invest in some waterproof mascara...:)Thank you Nana for helping us out this week! We love you and know that we wore you out! Thanks to Nana the big girls were able to go to Fiesta Texas while she watched the babies back at the hotel. Cooper didn't make the day very easy on her either. If you were to call her this second you wouldn't be able to hear her because she has NO voice!

Happy 11th Birthday Madison!

This year, Madison had her birthday party at our house. It was a slumber party that was suppose to involve watching movies and eating popcorn! However, I don't believe the movie was watched at all. Todd actually drove the girls over to Maddie's mom's house and allowed the girls to TP it...it was their first! He said on the way over they were asking things like, "Can you go to jail for doing this?" "What if that cop catches us doing it?" Too funny!

They played truth or dare and unfortunately Carson was apart of a dare!
Maddie with her sibs...

11 Candles...
She got the cutest bag from her friend Jessica. I think I'm going to steal it from her!

Some may think I am crazy but this really ended up being a great idea! I was worried about how I was going to keep the babies from being woken up by the girls or the babies waking them up. So, I allowed them to sleep in our bedroom. This way, they could have all the fun in there. I brought them snacks and they were good to go. I actually got sleep! And, when the babies woke up at 6:45 AM the girls were not disturbed.

Too cute! There were crumbs in my bed though...
