I don't have any pictures to share from this day but I have lots to say! This morning at church, our pastor's wife prayed to the Moms in the congregation. She prayed for different situations a mother or daughter might be going through on this day. Part of her prayer included the women sitting in the congregation that are longing for children but struggling to conceive. I was quickly reminded of my situation and how very thankful I am to be able to truly celebrate this holiday as my own. I was overwhelmed and holding back tears. My family did so much for me over the weekend. On Saturday, Todd and Maddie took Cooper to go run "errands". They came back with flowers to plant in the front yard. Maddie really helped Todd and stuck with it! She then came inside and helped with the babies, cleaned and cooked dinner. She did so much and it was only Saturday. Todd cleaned the back porch, went grocery shopping for the family dinner on Sunday, and groomed Reba. Last night, Todd came back from the grocery store with flowers and chocolate covered strawberries which are my fav! This morning, before going to church, Maddie came out with more for me! Sweet cards from each of them and a picture of a Kindle! It stated that my Kindle will be arriving by Monday! I am WAY excited about this gift and was really surprised to get it. I love to read but with our busy days, it's hard to find time to shop for a good book AND I'm running out of space to store them. I've wanted a Kindle for so long and now I have one! WHOO HOO! After church, Todd cooked for my side of the family. He cooked scrumptious steaks and baked potatoes. We had salad with it and Nana brought some yummy desserts.
What a great Mother's day!
Dear Todd,
Thank you so very much for everything you did this weekend! It seems that life is so crazy busy right now and it seems that there just isn't time left for the two of us. When our pastor today referred to this time as being in the trenches, I truly could relate. Both of us have such busy work schedules right now all the while raising two toddlers and running to event after event for Maddie. Just know, I have longed for this for as long as I can remember. It's definitely a stressful time for us but I know that in the blink of an eye we will be wishing for this time back. All three of our children are so uniquely beautiful inside and out and we are so truly blessed. Let's definitely plan a date night as soon as your project is complete and my school's night events are over!
I love you bunches!
Dear Maddie,
Girl, you went the distance this weekend! Never once did you complain and you pretty much took the initiative to help when needed all on your own. Thank you for making this weekend special for me. I couldn't have asked for more! I also love my card! It's definitely not cheesy! You are always so sweet to me and I love you so much for it. You have such a beautiful spirit and light up any room you walk into. Thank you so much for being such a wonderful step-daughter. I always say that you make being a step-mom easy because you are so easy to love! Stay that way! :)
Dear Cooper and Chloe,
Thank you for keeping me on my toes! Surely, you are helping me burn some calories too! I love watching the two of you play together. Right now you are really interacting with each other and crack us up when you start wrestling. Chloe, your hugs and Cooper, your kisses make my day! You are also being such good sleepers which allows Mommy to crash after a long busy day. Mommy loves you both to pieces! I'm loving the dancing too!
Happy Mother's Day to all my friends and family! Please pray for the women out there that are desperately wanting to call this day their own.
So sweet! I am so glad your day was so blessed!!!!
